Problem

UK supermarkets generate an estimated 1.9 million tonnes of food waste annually, with 100,000 tonnes of it being edible. This includes food past its sell-by date and products that don't meet cosmetic standards. The cost of this waste is around £1 billion a year, and while 100,000 tonnes is edible it’s still not being used.

Furthermore the cost of living crisis have led to families and many parents skipping meals to feed their children and 1 in 7 adults reportedly skipping meals due to affordability.

SOLUTION

Entering The Yellow Sticker Cookbook by Uncommon Creative Studio - a recipe generator built around groceries going out of date.

It’s not just another food recipe generator - this one is build to help minimise food waste and help feeding families struggling to make ends meet.

The app is build with an easy user interface and can connect to Google Lens to easily scan groceries when you’re on the go - helping you create affordable meals using food that might otherwise going to waste. Supporting the climate and you.
